Why is there a need to program?  Development      Performance

Development and Performance have the same emphasis Achieving Goals

The two templates above are guided by the level of competition performance.

It is purely the performance that will dictate what will be needed to progress.

As personal performance progresses the decisions based around the above templates become more apparent.

Both Development and Performance require the same attention, in relation to all the elements listed below, if the athlete is to acheive their goal.

The major difference is that Development is a vital step to Performance and allows a pocket of time to allow successful integration of many of the new elements needed to ensure the smooth transition from one level to another.

Important parts of any aspiration are timing, planning and progression.

Being in the right place at the right time is valuable to achieving.

This includes doing the right things at the right time.

Opportunities must be utilised to ensure the correct response. This is crucial to the selection of training and competition.

Planning is the most effective way to build structure and monitor training and performance progression.

"Fail to plan and you plan to fail"

Progression is a vital aspect of life. If we spend time doing the same things it is inevitable that the results will remain the same.

This section will contain links to different ideas regarding programming to succeed.

The four steps to programming are listed below:

This is an important aspect of the whole process.

All the elements listed below will require levels of identification and this will dictate the direction/s needed to be followed.

The Development and Performance templates above will be necessary tools in aiding identification.

Goal Setting

This is a very important part of programming.

In order to plan and program you need to know where you are headed!

Once you have identified and recognised the goal, steps can be taken to create the plan.

A guide to Goal Setting can be accessed here.

Planning is done by identifying the goal and working backwards.

Below are some ideas, from several sources, for you to consider.
